What does this converter do?

Why did my body come out as a raw string instead of JSON.stringify?

The parser tries `JSON.parse` on the `-d` payload; if it succeeds the body is emitted as a JSON literal (`JSON.stringify(...)` in JS, `json=...` in Python), otherwise it falls back to the raw string. A JSON body with mismatched quotes around the `-d` value can fail the parse and land in the raw branch — wrap the body in the matching quote type to fix it.

Why did my GET request get parsed without a body?

The converter reads the method from `-X`, not from the presence of `-d`. A cURL with `-d` but no `-X` will parse as a GET with the body silently dropped — add `-X POST` explicitly when the verb matters.
