Does it only work on phones? No. It works in any modern browser that provides geolocation over HTTPS, although phones and cellular tablets usually provide the best updates.
If the popup does not appear

- On iPhone, also check Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Safari.
- Use HTTPS or localhost; location is blocked on ordinary HTTP pages.

- Allow precise location access.
- Use the tool outdoors with a clear sky view.

About this tool
Track speed and distance from GPS with a Haversine fallback when speed is null. Free, private and browser-based. GPS Speedometer runs in the browser on DevTools. There is no signup, and your input stays on this device unless the tool explicitly performs a live network lookup.
What this tool does not do
- GPS Speedometer is a free in-browser utility, not a hosted API. It does not keep server-side history and is not a substitute for production verification in your own stack.
